1.0.6
not released yet · iPhone and iPadFixes for iPhone:
- "Delete local vault" and "Recover synced vault" were cut off at the bottom of the screen, so their buttons could not be reached. They now open over the whole screen
- The New snippet form no longer runs under the status bar
1.0.5
October 2026 · iPhone and iPad · Mac not released yetMac
New: Auto mode for the AI assistant. It is optional and off until you turn it on.
- Give the assistant a goal, such as "find out why this service is not working". It runs read-only checks on your Linux server by itself and shows every step
- Anything that changes the server still asks first, and runs only after you choose Run once
- When a command asks for a password, the assistant offers your saved passwords and waits for you
- Stop ends a run at once. Before the first run you agree to what is sent to your AI provider
8Terminal Pro is now $5.99 (€5.99, £5.99), once, for every Mac, iPhone and iPad on your Apple Account and your Family Sharing group. No subscription.
Sync between your devices (Pro):
- Link another device by scanning a QR code; both screens show the same six digits to compare
- Manage devices: names, last seen, and retire a device you no longer use
- A recovery code: if every device is lost, get your synced vault back with the code and your master password
- Change the sync master password; a retired device can't read anything synced afterwards
- Move sync to a fresh sync space, with a verified backup first
- See how full your sync storage is, and clean up old sync records
- Keep passwords and keys on this device only, if you prefer
- Sync activity now appears in Logs, with a copyable report for support
- When a host has no saved password, choose a saved one and Connect, or Connect & save
New in this version:
- Split panes: Cmd+D and Shift+Cmd+D, up to four per tab
- Sign in through your SSH agent or a Secure Enclave key with Touch ID
- OpenSSH certificates, including a clear message when one has expired
- Agent forwarding that asks before every signature

- Two-factor keyboard-interactive sign-in; RSA keys in OpenSSH and PuTTY files

- A notification when a coding agent is waiting for you
- Paste a screenshot or a Finder file into the terminal
- SFTP: folders, drag from Finder, permissions, keep both, and resume after a dropped connection

1.0.4
September 2026 · Mac · iPhone and iPadMac
Fixed local folder selection for SFTP in the Mac App Store sandbox. You can now choose a local folder and securely browse, upload, and download files.
iPhone and iPad
Saved passwords now complete reliably after Face ID or passcode confirmation in SSH terminal prompts. This update also improves protected terminal input handling on iPhone and iPad.
1.0.3
September 2026 · Mac · iPhone and iPadSecurely use saved passwords for sudo, su, and other terminal prompts with explicit credential selection and Face ID, Touch ID, or master-password confirmation. This release also strengthens terminal input ordering and lifecycle safety across Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
1.0.2
August 2026 · MacVault sync now pauses when 8Terminal Pro expires instead of continuing, and says so. Your local vault, your hosts and your keys are untouched and stay fully usable; renewing resumes the same sync without pairing your devices again.
The 8Terminal Pro card now shows the renewal terms for each plan and links to the Terms of Use and the privacy policy.
Fixes throughout the file browser: transfers that stop because the destination already holds the file now ask which one you want instead of reporting a failure, and the workspace no longer squeezes itself on narrow windows.
